The winning image in the Glimmerglass Film Days Poster Image Competition is a photograph by Milo Stewart, Jr. of Cooperstown. Out of a pool of more than 60 entries, the Film Days judges decided Stewart’s photo best conveyed the Film Days 2018 theme “Passages”. The photo shows a logging road winding through the woods on Mount Wellington, which is located on the northern end of Otsego Lake.
“The image invites you to take a walk in the woods, and really captures the theme,” says Ellen Pope, executive director of Otsego 2000, which sponsors Glimmerglass Film Days. “The fact that it was taken on Mount Wellington, which inspired the Film Days logo, makes it especially relevant.” The sixth annual film festival will be held November 8-12 in Cooperstown. Pope noted that the selected films will examine all types of passages– physical, geographical, temporal, emotional, and spiritual.
In addition to having his photo featured on the Film Days poster and publicity, Stewart receives a cash prize.
