Rango, Family Film

  • Farmers Museum 5775 NY-80 Cooperstown, NY, 13326 United States (map)

Rango (Johnny Depp) is a chameleon-out-of-water in this comedic western adventure directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy). As a sheltered reptile, Rango’s life is turned upside down when he gets abandoned in the middle of the desert. Wandering the unfamiliar terrain, he stumbles upon the ramshackle town of Dirt. Here he begins his epic journey to become the hero the town has needed to defeat the sinister outlaw Rattlesnake Jake (Bill Nighy). With an incredible cast and an irresistible charm, Rango is sure to appeal to kids and adults alike. Interestingly, the original Rango (1931) was a nature-adventure tale directed by Ernest B. Schoedsack who made the classic Grass (1925), also screening in Film Days. (2011, Gore Verbinski)
