UPDATE: HIKE IS CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

Join Otsego Land Trust on a walk and talk through time. As a property, Brookwood Point has worn many hats since the estate was established on Otsego Lake in the 1820s. On this tour through history, you will stroll along 100-year old Italianate garden beds and explore the charming arts-and-crafts style Garden House, hearing the story of Brookwood from the time of the Native American presence, to the founding of Cooperstown, to OLT’s ownership of the site today. The tour will begin at the Garden House at 3 pm and should last approximately 90 minutes.

Peter Rutkoff, NEH Distinguished Professor of American Studies at Kenyon College, and member of the Glimmerglass Film Days Steering Committee, is in residence at the Cooperstown Graduate Program this fall where he will be teaching a class on the use of black and white film from the 1930s to the 1950s to address important political questions including war and peace, race, class, and gender. Screenings of five classic American films will take place on Sunday afternoons at 4 pm at the Cooperstown Graduate Program, and will be open to the public (space is limited though – please reserve)
